The Theory Trainer is a free app from North Devon Tae Kwon-Do that helps students learn the theory for their gradings, from 10th Kup (white belt) to 1st Dan (black belt). It follows the club's grading syllabus and turns revision into short lessons with points, belts and honours to earn.
Open the Theory TrainerWhat it covers
- Every pattern: its meaning, number of movements and ready stance, including fill-in-the-blank pattern meanings.
- Korean terminology for each grade: counting, commands, stances, blocks, kicks, strikes and parts of the body. Practise English to Korean, Korean to English, or both.
- The five tenets (Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control, Indomitable Spirit), the student oath and the meaning of each belt colour.
- History: the founder of Tae Kwon-Do, Major General Choi Hong Hi.
- A Grading Challenge for every belt, and a Practice mode that brings back the questions you find hardest.
There are more than 750 questions in seven formats: multiple choice, true or false, matching pairs, putting things in order, fill in the gap, typed answers and fill in the blanks.
